13,000 guests served at the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge — Upbeat Event Catering and Design takes in their stride

The 2010 JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge has become a legendary event in the corporate sporting calendar. The event was first held in 1986 and has helped raise money for charity ever since. Representing ´Capital FM´s Help a London Child´ this year, Margherita Taylor attended the event, spurred the runners on and held the finishing tape alongside representatives from Tiffany´s and Fortune Magazine.

Held in July over 2 nights, in a very hot and sunny Battersea Park, the event was once again fully attended with almost 300 companies submitting teams. As usual the race event organisers, (Limelight), put on a splendidly organised event and for the first time Upbeat were called upon to provide the catering and refreshments for the runners and guests.

Upbeat are no strangers to charitable sporting events. This year alone they have provided sustenance for the celebrities and crew on the Sport Relief Million Pound Bike Ride and for 750 cyclists and crew on a 10 day cycle from John O´Groats to Land´s End.

Battersea Park provides its own logistical hurdles to overcome with Upbeat providing all the equipment, gas, water, kitchens, chefs and service staff to feed the teams housed in their own corporate marquee dining areas, sited on what is normally just an open empty space.

With 450 chefs, service and back of house staff working with Upbeat they cooked up everything from a traditional beef burger, (or spicy bean burger if you prefer), to grilled salmon, a variety of healthy salads and hearty pie and mash - all produced from temporary kitchens stocked with their coveted flight-cased equipment.
