Eat To The Beat 'All In' for The Ashes
Some of cricket biggest names are tucking into food supplied by Eat To The Beat (ETTB) throughout the npower Ashes Series this summer. The likes of Sir Ian Botham, David Gower and Shane Warne are enjoying meals provided by the tour and location caterer who are supplying the Sky Sports cricket production team throughout the series.
ETTB have catered for the Sky Sports team for the last 6 years during the ECB county and international cricket season. Once again it is with pleasure, that ETTB are feeding the Sky Sports television team as they bring the exciting live coverage of the Ashes to living rooms across the nation.
A five strong ETTB team were on-site both in Cardiff and Lords, setting up the day prior to the first innings and remaining in situ until the final wicket falls. From their mobile kitchen trucks they provide freshly prepared nutritious meals. Using ingredients delivered daily, from local suppliers, they create a varied menu which sustains and energises the broadcast teams during the long working days.
Tony Laurenson, Managing Director, ETTB, said "We are once again proud to be involved with this great event. We have fed over 140 people on some days, including some familiar faces that have been part of the Sky Sports teams for many years. Due to the unpredictable British weather affecting play, fixed meal times can be liable to change, meaning that everyone may need to be catered for at a moment's notice. A whole team of the Sky Sports 'runners' assist our team in delivering meals to camera and studio positions, thus making sure everyone is well fed by the time the players leave The Pavilion to resume play. So far everything has gone according to plan, thanks to the experienced team and the logistical planning carried out in advance."
The ETTB team and the company's fleet of mobile kitchen trucks are now on the road as the busy Ashes season continues. Sometimes up to three teams will leapfrog each other to the various venues across the country as the season continues with military precision, fuelled by good food and good humour.
